Immunogen: mouse mast cell line MC/9

Reactivity: Reacts with the alpha 5 subunit of the integrin A5B1 fibronectin (CD49e/CD29, VLA-5) which has been observed on thymocytes, on the B16 melanoma cell line and on endothelial cells. Soluble 5H10-27 Mab has been reported to inhibit VLA-5 mediated functions in vitro. In addition, mab 5H10-27 has been demonstrated to costimulate the proliferative response of CD8+ T cells to plate bound anti-CD3e antibody.

Immunogen: aff pure mouse VLA-5 protein

Activity: made against mouse Cd49e but also reacts with rat CD49e. The cellular distribution is different from that observed in mouse.It has been reported that soluble HMA5-1 partially inhibits the in vitro binding of rat mast CElls to fibronectin and inhibits the enhanced degranulation of IgE sensitized RBL-2H3 basophilic leukemia cell line induced on fibronectin-coated plates, and that plate bound antibody enhances the degranulation of IgE sensitized RBL-2H3 cells and that subcutaneous injection of the antibody along with anti-CD49d and CD61 ntibodies inhibits experimentally induced passive cutaneous anaphylaxis.

-reacts with the alpha 5 subunit of the integrin A5B1 fibronectin receptor on mouse splenic B cells and a variety of mouse cell lines, including pre-B and non-lymphoid cells, but not on mouse thymocytes or lymph node cells. It also detects rat peripheral B cells, peritoneal mast cells, and endothelium, but not on thymocytes.
