Source: Glycosylated recombinant ecto-domain of gD protein 319 amino acid sequence representing the external domain of the gD molecule without the membrane spanning and cytosolic sequences.) It encodes a protein of approx 30Kda that contains three sites for glycosylation. the yeast system adds a mannose core oligosaccharide to N-linked motifs. Glycosylation is heterogeneous and results in many immunoreactive products on western blots greater than 40kda. The doublet band at approx 28 and 30kda is not believed to be glycosylated. All forms react with patient sera and monoclonal antibodies in ELISA and Western blot

Produced in Pichia pastoris.

Store: -70'C. Recommend making aliquot and store -70 DEg C or below. Avoid frequent freeze thaw cycles.

Form: Frozen liquid form in 0.02M sodium phosphate, 0.008M NaCl, pH7.2

Appearance: Clear solution with slight grren tintt when observed in 10mg quantities

Western blot: doublet band migrating at between 25 and 30kda. Multiple SDS-PAGE bands and glycosylation smearing between 40 and 220kda.   Comparable to reference lot with a wide degree of   glycosylation heterogeneity allowed between lots.

Biohazard: recombinant material not hazardous but should be handled as if capable of transmitting infection.
