ANTIBODIES

(anti-Human and others as indicated)

RDI Divison of Fitzgerald Industries Intl  offers a wide line of  antibodies. Since no one antibody works best for all applications (neutralization, blotting, histochemistry, ELISA, etc), we offer many different types of antibodies to help solve this problem. Please inquire for other applications or types of antibodies not listed below.

-Glial cell line derived factor (GDNF) and the related neurotrophic factor neuturin are potent survival factors and peripheral neurons. Two receptors for these factors, GFR alpha-1 (previously known as GDNFR-alpha) and GFRalpha-2 (previously designated as RETL2 or GDNFR-Beta) have been identified. These receptors do not contain transmembrane domains and are attached to the cell membrane by glycosyl- phospoinositol linkage. Binding of GDNF or NTN to either of these receptors leads to the activation of the tyrosine kinase Ret.
Goat anti-GDNFR alpha -1 (Human/Rat)

cat# RDI-GDNRFA1abG     $438.00/50ug

       RDI-GDNFRA1abGX   $812.00/100ug

Presentation: 1mg/ml affinity purified Goat IgG in PBS with 0.05% sodium azide

Immunogen: Recombinant rat glial cell-line derived neurotrophic factor soluble receptor alpha 1 extracellular domain.

Reactivity: human and rat (others not tested)

Use: Immunohistochemistry: 5 µg/mL slide -mounted sections, 10-15ug/ml for paraffin-embedded tissues, 1-2 µg/mL free       - floating sections

        Immunocytochemistry: 5 µg/mL

        Western Blot: 0.1 0.2 µg/mL

       ELISA: 0.5 -1.0 µg/ml

Optimal dilutions should be determined by user for each application

Storage: Store frozen. Aliquot as undiluted antisera and immediately place at -20 DEG C. At first thaw, tighten cap, centrifuge for 1-2 minutes at 1000 rpm to concentrate material in vial. Stable at least 6 months at -20 DEG C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

For Research Use Only

Sample Protocol: Antiserum was used on fixed tissue. This antibody can be used with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect rat GDNF alpha-1 (GFR alpha-1) on tissues dissected from animals that were fixed by vascular perfusion with 4% paraformaldehyde/PBS (pH 7.4) and followed by perfusion with a 10% sucrose solution in 0.1 M phosphate buffer (pH 7.2). This antibody was found to work equally well on sections of frozen as well as paraffin-embedded tissues. Detection of labeling on cells and tissues may be done by employing either fluorescent or non-fluorescent enzymatic protocols.

For In Vitro Research Use Only
