Abnormalities in human IgG Subclass concentrations have been observed in patients with increased susceptibility to viral or bacterial infections, autoimmune diseases, neurological and immune related disorders. Serum Total IgG concentrations can be within the normal range while the concentration of one or more subclasses can be deficient or increased! Three methods are available (all kits measure each of the individual IgG subclasses (IgG1, IgG2, IgG3 + IgG4):
