PURIFICATION METHOD: Protein A affinity chromatography

SPECIFICITY: This antibody reacts with the CD86 antigen, which is a cell surface protein expressed by activated B cells and monocytes. C86 is also known as B7-2 and is the second ligand for CD28 and CTLA-4.

PRESENTATION: Each monoclonal is delivered in a sealed vial at a concentration of not less than 200µg/2ml in Tris bufered saline containing 0.01% thiomersal. . We recommend that each laboratory determine an optimum working titre for use in its particular application.


STORAGE: Purified monoclonal antibodies are generally stable for up to one month at 4oC. However repeated warming to room temperature and re-cooling may result in a loss of activity and hence effective working titre. It is recommended that monoclonal antibodies are aliquotted upon receipt and then stored at -20C. After thawing they should then be used as a stock solution for up to 30 days. Dilute working solutions are best prepared on the day of use.

Activity: Recognizes a 80kD cell surface protein, B70/B7-2 expressed primarily on monocytes, dendritic cells and activated B cells. Competitive binding assays demonstrate that, while both clone FUN1 and IT2.2 recognize the same molecule, but different epitopes. Clone FUN1 blocks costimulation activity of CD86 in functional studies.
