ANTIBODIES
(anti-Human and others as indicated)
NOTE: 10% Discount on purchases of 3 or more any combination of CD antibodies. Please inquire for bulk or custom formulations (without preservative or carrier).
RDI Division of Fitzgerald Industries Intl offers a wide line of antibodies. Since no one antibody works best for all applications (flow cytometry, neutralization, blotting, histochemistry, ELISA, etc), we offer many different types of antibodies to help solve this problem. Please inquire for other applications or types of antibodies not listed below. All products are for in vitro research use only-not for use in or on humans or animals-not for use in diagnostics. Price/availability/specifications subject to change without notice.

ISOTYPE IgG3
IMMUNIZING ANTIGEN Purified human tonsil lymphocytes
FUSION PARTNER SP2/0 myeloma cell line
SOURCE Tissue culture supernatant
PURIFICATION METHOD Protein A affinity chromatography
SPECIFICITY: This antibody reacts with the B cell differentiation antigen CD23, a 45-50 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein. The antigen acts as a low affinity IgE receptor (FcER2) and is expressed to a variable degree on follicular mantle B cells but only very occasionally in the splenic marginal zones or in germinal centres. The CD23 clustered antibodies give a characteristic binding pattern with follicular dendritic cells but the antigen is absent on plasma cells and B cell progenitors. Expression of the CD23 antigen is increased as B lymphocytes pass from a resting to an active phase. Cleavage of the membrane bound form releases a series of soluble fragments all of which still bind IgG except for the 12 kDa moiety.
Antigen distribution:
B cells (lg+, E-) 28 + 3%
Peripheral blood lymphocytes 5 + 3%
T cells (E+) < 1%
NK cells (CD16+) < 1 %
Thymocytes < 1 %
Granulocytes < 1 %
Monocytes < 1 %
APPLICATIONS
*Identification of CD23 positive B cells by indirect immunofluorescence staining
*Leukaemia and lymphoma phenotyping
*Identification of normal and malignant B lymphocytes in frozen sections
*Immunoprecipitation of the CD23 antigen
*Isolation or removal of CD23 positive cells by FACS
*Studies of CD23 and its ligand CD21 in the control of IgE production
