RDI Divison of Fitzgerald Industries Intl offers a wide line of antibodies. Since no one antibody works best for all applications (neutralization, blotting, histochemistry, ELISA, etc), we offer many different types of antibodies to help solve this problem. Please inquire for other applications or types of antibodies not listed below.
DATA SHEET:Mouse anti-Fodrin Monoclonal Antibody
Catalog#: RDI-FODRINabm Price:$531.00/50UG VIAL
Background: -In non erythroid cells, a spectrin like protein has been identified as fodrin and found to contain two subunits (alpha subunit of 240 kDa MW and a beta subunit of 235 kDa MW). Immunological and biochemical analyses indicate that non-erythroid fodrin and erythrocyte spectrin share a large amount of sequence homology. Fodrin is believed to be involved in stabilizing membrane structures, maintaining cell shape and linking the cytoskeleton to plasma membranes or intracellular vesicles. In particular, fodrin is known to mediate the association of actin filaments with the plasma membrane. Fodrin has also been shown to interact closely with a receptor associated tyrosine phosphatase (e.g. leukocyte common antigen CD45) during lymphocyte activation. Most recently, fodrin has been found to be a substrate for tyrosine kinases. Together, these data suggest that fodrin is involved in signal transduction during cell activation.
Package Size: 50 ug IgG in 50ul (0.5mg/ml) in 10mM SODIUM PHOSPHATE, 150mM NaCl, 0.01% NaN3, pH7.5
Isotype: IgG2a (purified from culture supernatant of fodrin hybridoma cell line)
Antigen: purified bovine brain fodrin.
Specificity: reacts specifically with intracellular fodrin (240 kDa) in human, mouse, rat, rabbit and bovine cells and tissues. For immunofluorescence- permeabilization reagents as saponin may be required.
Storage: Store at -20 DEG C or lower. AVOID FREQUENT FREEZE THAW CYCLES. Do not freeze diluted antibody. Recommend making dilution in bufer containing 1% BSA or other protein prior to aliquoting. At first thaw, centrifuge 1 minute 1000 rpm to concentrate antibody in vial.
