ANTIBODIES

(anti-Human and others as indicated)

RDI Division of Fitzgerald Industries Intl  offers a wide line of  antibodies. Since no one antibody works best for all applications (neutralization, blotting, histochemistry, ELISA, etc), we offer many different types of antibodies to help solve this problem. Please inquire for other applications or types of antibodies not listed below.

ANTI-VIMENTIN  (see monoclonal and polyclonals below)

MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY TO VIMENTIN

PRODUCT CODE :RDI-PRO61013, new cat#: 10R-V104a   $379.50/50ug

        also available FITC labeled: cat#RDI-PRO61413, new cat#: 61R-V104aFT  $517.00/0.25ml

                              Biotin labeled: cat#RDI-PRO61513, new cat#: 61R-V104aBT  $517.00/0.25ml

CLONE: VIM 3B4

ISOTYPE: IgG2a

SOURCE: Mouse ascitic fluid.

PURIFICATION METHOD: Protein A affinity chromatography

SPECIFICITY: All cells shown to be positive with antisera to vimentin were also positive with this antibody: cells of mesenchymal derivation, including endothelial cells and certain smooth muscle cells of the vascular tract, fibroblasts, connective tissue, all types of blood cells, including thymocytes, interstitial and Sertoli-cells of testis, ovarian follicle cells; detects coexpression of vimentin in combination with other intermediate filament proteins. Specific for vimentin (Mr 57,000 on SDS-PAGE) recognized from the following species. Human, bovine, rodent (rat, mouse, hamster), chicken, amphibia (Xenopus).

APPLICATIONS: * RD cells, glioma cells, fibroblasts (SV-80, 3T3), BHK

                              * All vimentin expressing tumours such as sarcomas (including myosarcomas), lymphomas,                                               melanomas etc.

                              * The antibody is brilliantly positive on sections of frozen tissues and on formalin-fixed,                                                       paraffin-embedded tissue samples. In comparative analyses, VIM 3B4 has turned out to be the                                     most avid monoclonal antibody to vimentin.

PRESENTATION: Each monoclonal is delivered in a sealed vial at a concentration of 50µg lyophilysed. Reconstitute with 1ml distilled water. We recommend that each laboratory determine an optimum working titre for use in its particular application.

STORAGE: Purified monoclonal antibodies are generally stable for long periods at 4oC. However repeated warming to room temperature and re-cooling may result in a loss of activity and hence effective working titre. It is recommended that monoclonal antibodies are aliquotted upon receipt and then stored at -200C. After thawing they should then be used as a stock solution for up to 60 days. Dilute working solutions are best prepared on the day of use.
