Ig Isotype: mouse IgG1k (Balb/c)

Immunogen: HTLV-1 transformed rat T cell line Lewis-S1

Reactivity: Reacts with CD80 (B7-1), a member of the Ig superfamily of transmembrane proteins. Along with CD86 (B7-2), CD80 is a counter-receptor for T cell membrane moleculaes CD28 and CTLA-4. The cognante interaction between T cells and antigen-presenting cells through these cell- surface receptors is responsible for delivering intracellular co-stimulatory signals to both cell types. CD80 expression is induced on splenic B cells by polyclonal activation such as LPS treatment. Clone 3H5 mAb is reported to block the co-stimulatory function of rat CD80 and to immunoprecipitate CD80 from Lewis-S1 cell lysates.
