Purification: Purified from TCS by affinity chromatography

Reactivity: Reacts with mouse P-selectin (CD62P). a 140 kDa protein which is expressed on activated platelets, endothelial cells and megakaroyocytes. P-selectin mediates the adhesion of neutrophils and monocytes to activated platelets and endothelial cells, mediates leukocyte rolling, and is involved in the migration of leukocytes into inflammed tissues. Clone RB40.34 Mab can block mouse P-selectin binding to its ligand in vitro and in vivo.

-composed of the signal sequence, the lectin domain, the EGF-like repeat, asn the first two complement-binding doamins of mouse P- selectin (CD62P) fused to the Fc region (hinge, C1 and C2) of human IgG1. This chimeric protein binds to P-selectin expressed on mouse and human neutrophils and myeloid cell lines. In addition, P- selectin Ig has been shown to stain most T-helper-1 (Th1) cells strongly, while T-helper-2 (TH2) cells remain unreactive. Consequently, binding of P-selectin-Ig can be useful in distinguishing the two th subsets.
