Reactivity: Reacts with CD49d, the integrin A4 subunit which is expressed as a heterodimer with either of two B subunits, B1 or B7. The A4B1 integrin (VLA-4, CD49d/CD29) is expressed on most peripheral lymphocxytes, but only on a small subset of thymocytes. These integrins mediate a variety of cell to cell and cell to matrix interactions, recognizing the ligands VCAM-1 and fibronectin. Integrin A4B7 also preferentially binds to the mucosal vascular addressin, MadCAM-1.

USE: flow cytometry(<1ug/1M cells)

         histochemistry (acetone fixed frozen sections)

      -blocking: only when used in conjunction with clone R1-2 (azide free formulations)
