Ig Isotype: armenian Hamster IgG, group 2

Immunogen: emulsified lewis rat glomeruli

Reactivity: Reacts with 180kDa integrin alpha chain (CD49A) which is a transmembrane glycoprotein that non covalently associates with the integrin beta 1 subunit (CD29) to form the CD49a/Cd29 or VLA-1 complex. VLA-1 has been reported to be expressed on activated T cells,monocytes, smooth muscle cells and endothelial cells. The anitbody reacts with both mouse and rat CD49a. The azide free formulation has beeen reported to block VLA-1 mediated binding of rat cells to collagen.
