ANTIBODIES
(anti-Human and others as indicated)
RDI Division of Fitzgerald Industries Intl offers a wide line of antibodies. Since no one antibody works best for all applications (neutralization, blotting, ELISA, etc), we offer many different types of antibodies to help solve this problem. Please inquire for other applications or types of antibodies not listed below.
Rabbit anti- Human LDL RECEPTOR (low density lipoprotein receptor):Biotin Conjugate
cat#RDI-PRO61599, new cat#: 60R-LR025bt $525.00/250ul
Form: rabbit polyclonal, monospecific, biotin conjugated
Form/Purification purified IgG by Protein A affinity chromatography
Immunogen Specific synthetic peptide of the complement homology region within the ligand binding site (sequence not conserved in VLDL receptor and LRP) of the LDL receptor extracellular domain)- epitope between residues Nos 184-195, the linker region between repeats 4 and 5
Clinical Application/
Specificity The LDL receptor (160kD mature or glycosylated receptor; 120kD precursor or unglycosylated receptor) plays a key role in cellular cholesterol homeostasis. The antibody to LDL-R reacts specifically with human LDL-R and is suitable for use in flow cytometry and immunoblotting. First data show that the antibody does not inhibit binding of LDL. In immunoblotting, the antibody recognizes the 160kDa of LDLR and a 120kDa band of the LDLR precursor from fibroblasts, hepatocytes, and monocytic cells cultured in the presence of lipoprotein-deficient serum.
Application -FACS -receptor binding studies
Antigen Recognized in Species Tested so far: Human
Working Concentration: 1:10 for FACS
Storage/Stability At 2-8 DEG C DO NOT FREEZE
Quantity: 0.25ml (in PBS with 0.5% BSA and 0.09% NaN3)
For In Vitro Research Use Only-Not For Use In Or On Humans or Animals-Not For
Diagnostics
personal communication data:
sees epitope C R G C Y V F Q G D S S P (AA 184-AA196). The antibody can be used for visualization of the LDL receptor in immunoblots, independent of its oxidation state, the antibody binds to the LDL receptor in the native state as well as under reducing conditions. Furthermore, the antibody exhibits high affinity binding for LDL receptors on the cellular surface (eg monocytes) and is, therefore, suitable for FAS analysis. The antibody was characterized in comparitive study by researchers at the Univ of Regensburg and was found superior for cellular binding studies when compared with the mouse monoclonal anti-human LDL receptor antibody produced by the mouse IgC7 hybridoma cell line publlished by Beisiegel et al, 1982. Unpublished work.
