  ANTIBODIES

(anti-Human and others as indicated)

RDI Divison of Fitzgerald Industries Intl  offers a wide line of  antibodies. Since no one antibody works best for all applications (neutralization, blotting, ELISA, etc), we offer many different types of antibodies to help solve this problem. Please inquire for other applications or types of antibodies not listed below.

ANTI-Cingulin
Mab to Cingulin

Cat#RDI-PRO651122   $375.00

Clone Determination               139.3.4

Category                                  Mouse monoclonal

Immunoglobulin Class             IgM

Purification / Form                 Hybridoma culture supernatant

Immunogen                             Synthetic peptide (aa. 4-24)

Specificity                            The mab reacts specifically with cingulin ( a 150 kD polypeptide) present in tight                                                                 junctions (zonula occludens) of polar epithelia (e.g. colon, duodenum, kidney, liver,                                                           pancreas), of transitional epithelia (e.g. bladder epithelium), and of stratified                                                                       epithelia (e.g. skin, foot sole, tongue, oesophagus, vagina)

Negative with endothelia of vessels and capillaries (e.g. in heart and brain)

Polypeptide Reacting          Cingulin, 126.5 kD polypeptide (calculated from aa sequence data); apparent Mr 150 kD                                                      (after SDS-PAGE); pI 6.5 (very similar to symplekin, another junctional protein)

Antigen recognized

in species                             Human; bovine, mouse, Xenopus laevis

(tested so far)

Reactivities on Cultured Cell Carcinoma cell lines (e.g. MCF-7, Caco-2, PLC, A-431),

Lines (tested so far)                                                   SV80 (fibroblasts), Glioma); MDBK, MDCK, BMGE

Application                           · Immunoblotting

                                               · Immunohistochemistry on frozen sections and paraffin embedded tissue (only after microwave treatment)

On cultured cells fixation with paraformaldehyde is recommended for optimal staining. In contrast to symplekin, using mab 139.3.4 cingulin has been localized exclusively to the tight junction complex.

Working Dilution                   Ready-to-use for immunohistochemistry

Storage                                   At 2 - 8°C

Volume                                   5 ml
