  ANTIBODIES

(anti-Human and others as indicated)

RDI Divison of Fitzgerald Industries Intl  offers a wide line of  antibodies. Since no one antibody works best for all applications (neutralization, blotting, ELISA, etc), we offer many different types of antibodies to help solve this problem. Please inquire for other applications or types of antibodies not listed below.

Plectin (see 2 polyclonals below)
Polyclonal Antibody to PLECTIN (Glia cell reactive)

Cat#RDI-PROGP21             $469.00

Category                                 Guinea Pig polyclonal

Form/Purification                    Whole antiserum

Immunogen                               C-terminal "C" domain of human recombinant plectin (aa4367-4684)

Description/Specificity Calculated MW 532,000 protein plectin, localizing to plasma membrane attachments sites of intermediate filaments and microfilaments (actin) such as desmosomes and hemidesmosomes, z-line structures and dense plaques of striated and smooth muscle. Strong positive reaction is also found with endothelia, fibroblasts and infiltrating cells (e.g. lymphocytes) HUMAN Glia  cells are specifically detected

Species tested so far               Human; Strong cross-reactivity with bovine, mouse, Xenppus laevis, fish

Reactivity on Cultured Cell Lines:   HL-60, Huvec (human umbilical cord endothelial cell line), BMGE, 3T3

Application - Immunohistochemistry on frozen and paraffin sections (paraffin enhanced with high temp antigen retrieval)

                     - cytological sections

                    - immunoblotting

Working Dilution 1:500 for immunohistochemistry

-1:16,00 for western blotting (chemiluminescence detection)

Incubation time: 1 hour at RT, extended for paraffin sections

Storage At 2-8°C one year

Quantity / Volume 100ul; contains 0.09% sodium azide

Polyclonal Antibody to PLECTIN (not Glial cell reactive)

Cat#RDI-PROGP20                 $469.00

Category                                   Guinea Pig polyclonal

Form/Purification                      Whole antiserum

Immunogen                                 C-terminal "C" domain of human recombinant plectin

Strong positive reaction is also found with endothelia, fibroblasts and infiltrating cells (e.g. lymphocytes)

Species tested so far                Human (but non-reactive with glia-cells); reduced crossreactivity with fish and Xenopus laevis, NEGATIVE with mouse and bovine

Application - Immunohistochemistry on frozen and paraffin sections (paraffin requires high temp antigen retrieval)

                    - cytological sections

                    -immunoblotting

Working Dilution 1:500 for immunohistochemistry

-1:16,00 for western blotting (chemiluminescence detection)
