Buffer: 0.02 M Potassium Phosphate, 0.15 M Sodium Chloride,pH 7.2

Antigen: Papain (from carica papaya).

Applications: suitable for immunoblotting (western or dot blot),ELISA, immunoprecipitation, conjugation and most immunological methods requiring high titer and specificity.

-This polyclonal reacts with the sulfhydryl protease pepsin isolated from Carica papaya showing a 23kda band by SDS Page. The antibody is designed to facilitate immunological processes and may be immobilized to a solid phase for process development. Reacts with all forms of the enzyme tested to date.

Recommended Dilutions: Not determined. Optimal titers for applications should be determined by the researcher.

Storage Conditions: Store vial at 4'C prior to restoration. Re-store with 5.0 ml of deionized water (or equivalent). Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4'C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. For extended storage aliquot contents and freeze at -20'C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Expiration date is one (1)year from date of reconstituion.

Purity and Specificity: This product is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti- Goat Serum as well as purified and partially purified papain(Carica papaya).
