  ANTIBODIES

(anti-Human and others as indicated)

RDI Divison of Fitzgerald Industries Intl  offers a wide line of  antibodies. Since no one antibody works best for all applications (neutralization, blotting, ELISA, etc), we offer many different types of antibodies to help solve this problem. Please inquire for other applications or types of antibodies not listed below.

DATA SHEET : Rabbit anti-Glucagon (Frozen & Parrafin)

Human, Swine, Dog, monkey, mouse & Rat REACTIVE

cat# RDI-GLUCAGabr  $438.00/vial

Specificity: Human Glucagon (also see above)

Anbtgen: porcine glucagon

Preparation: Lyophilised rabbit serum containing 15mM sodium azide. Reconstitute with 0.5ml of sterile distilled water.

USE: Effective on paraffin wax embedded tissue and on frozen sections.

Protocol: Immunohistochemistry:Typical working dilution 1:25 - 1:50. 60 Minutes incubation at 25'C. Standard ABC technique.

Positive controls: pancreas

Staining pattern: cytoplasmic

Storage and stability: Store unopened lyophilized antibody at 4'C. Under these conditions, there is no significant loss in product performance up to the expiry date indicated on the vial label. The reconstituted antibody is stable for at least two months when stored at 4'C. For long term storage, aliquot in non frost free freezer, Avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Prepare fresh working dilutions daily.

Background: Glucagon-like immunoreactivity is seen in the endocrine cells of the pancreatic islets and also in the mucosa of small and large intestine. Pancreatic glucagon, a peptide of 29 amino acids, has biological activities including glycogenolysis, lipolysis, gluconeogenesis and ketogenesis. these effects are all antagonistic to insulin action and therefore, lead to increased blood sugar levels. The majority of glucagonomas arise from the pancreas and produce pancreatic glucagon. These tumors are found mainly in the body or tail of the pancreas. this antibody may be useful for the demonstration of tumors and hyperplasia of the pancreatic islets where lesions may demonstrate patchy, variable intensity of staining.

Rabbit anti-Glucagon/Glycentin

cat#RDI-PRO11186     $375.00

Category                         rabbit polyclonal

Form/purification           serum

Immunogen                     porcine pancreatic glucagon/BSA

Clinical Application/ Glycentin contains the glucagon sequence and is produced in endocrine cells of the distal intestine, in pancreatic glucagon cells and in the nerves in the brain. This glycentin antibody is reactive with glycentin as well as glucagon. The antibody can be used for the diagnosis of tumors from the distal intestine (rectal carcinoids) as well as pancreatic islet cell tumors.

Application Suitable for:

· Immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin embedded tissue (no protease pretreatment required)

Recommended Positive control: pancreas, small intestine

Antigen Recognized  in species tested so far:Human, rat and pig

Working Dilution 1:50-1:100 in immunohistochemistry, 1hour at room temp or overnight at 4 DEG C for histochemistry

Dilution Buffer 0.15 M PBS with 1% BSA and 0.1% Na-Azide

Storage/Stability At 2-8°C for min. for longer periods aliquots should be stored at -20 Deg C

Volume 0.25ml

Rabbit anti-Glucagon

cat#RDI-PRO11184    $375.00

Category                        rabbit polyclonal

Form/purification          serum

Immunogen                    porcine pancreatic glucagon/BSA

Clinical Application/ Glucagon is produced by the alpha cells of the pancreatic islets. It also occurs in endocrine cells of the gut and in neurons in the brain. The glucagon antibody canbe used for the detection of pancreatic endocrine tunors. The antigen localization is cytoplasmic. The antibody is specific to pancreatic glucagon

Application Suitable for: · Immunohistochemistry(frozen and paraffin embedded tissue (no protease pretreatment required)

Recommended Positive control: pancreas

Antigen Recognized in species tested so far:Human, pig

Working Dilution 1:50-1:100 in immunohistochemistry, 1hour at room temp or overnight at 4 DEG C for histochemistry

Dilution Buffer 0.15 M PBS with 1% ovalbumin and 0.1% Na-Azide

Storage/Stability At 2-8°C for min. for longer periods aliquots should be stored at -20 Deg C

Volume 0.25ml
