MAP Kinase Antibodies (ERK, ERK1, ERK2, ERK3,  and more....)


Mouse anti-Pan MAP-KINASE (Pan ERK) Monoclonal ab

Background: A 42kDa serine/threonine protein kinase, termed MAP kinase or ERK2 (extracellular signal regulated kinase 2) is activated in cells upon stimulation with insulin, platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) or epidermal growth factor (EGF). Activation in growth factor treated cells is the result of phosphorylation of MAP kinase at both tyrosine and threonine residues by MEK (MAP Kinase Kinase). Sequence analysis has revelaed a family of ERKs that are related to each other and to protein kinases from yeast. In addition to ERKs 1 and 2, there is a 54kDa ERK and a MAP Kinase in the 90kDa size range. There may be other ERKs not yet determined.

package: 50ug or 150ug purified IgG2a at 0.25mg/ml in 50% glycerol, 20mM sodium phosphate pH 7.5, 150mM NaCl, 1.5mM NaN3, 1mg/ml BSA


antigen: a fragment corresponding to amino acids 219-358 from rat ERK2.


USe: Suitable for western blot on human, dog, rat, and mouse, chick and frog using approx 1 to 0.05ug/ml ab on total cell lysate. Major bands at Mw 85Kda, 42/44kDa and a smaller band at 54kDa. Positive control human fibroblast cells.

Background: A 44kDa serine/threonine protein kinase, termed MAP kinase or ERK1 (extracellular signal regulated kinase 1) is activated in cells upon stimulation with insulin, platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) or epidermal growth factor (EGF). Activation in growth factor treated cells is concomitant with both tyrosine and threonine phossphorylation of MAO Kinase (ERK1). Phosphorylation of the ERKs is mediated by MEK (MAP Kinase Kinase or ERK Kinase). the cDNA encoding MAP Kinase (ERK1) has been cloned and sequenced revealing a family of ERKs that ar related to other protein kinases from yeast. This antibody is known to cross react to some extent with ERK2.

Mouse anti-MAP-KINASE ( ERK-3 ) Monoclonal ab

Background: ERK3, a member of the extracellular signal regulated kinase family of protein kinases, has a predicted moleculr weight of 62.6kDa. It is primarily differentiated from ERK1 and ERK2 by a 180amino acid C-terminal extension. As is the case with ERKs 1 and 2, ERK3 is expressed at highest levels in the mammalian nervous system. While ERK2 is expressed at higher levels in forebrain, ERK3 expression is higher in hindbrain regions. Outside the nervous system, ERK3 expression is found to be highest in the skeletal muscle.
