ANTIBODIES
(anti-Human and others as indicated)
RDI Divison of researchd Industries Intl offers a wide line of antibodies. Since no one antibody works best for all applications (neutralization, blotting, ELISA, etc), we offer many different types of antibodies to help solve this problem. Please inquire for other applications or types of antibodies not listed below.
cat# RDI-DYSTROBabm $375.00/vial 50ug
RDI-DYSTROBabm-1 $625.00/vial 150ug
Background: Acetylcholine receptor clustering is considered an early
event and a marker for synaptogenesis between a motor neuron and a
muscle fiber. This process is mediated by the extracellular protein Agrin
which binds to a and b Dystroglycan, previously discovered as Dystrobrevin-
associated proteins. Dystrobrevin binds to the actin cytoskeleton by its
N-terminal domain, thus providing the link between the actin cytoskeleton
and receptor clustering. InTorpedo electric organ, Dystrobrevin is a prominent
phosphotyrosine-containing protein. Murine Dystrobrevins comprise a family
of four related proteins (1-4) with similar function, generated by alternative
splicing. Dystrobrevin-1 is 688 amino acids and has an apparent mobility
of 87kDa. Dystrobrevin-2 shares almost identical sequence with Dystrobrevin-1
in the first 500 amino acids and has an apparent mobility of 59kDa.
isotype: mIgG1
package: 50ug (200ul) or 150ug (600ul) (at 0.25mg/ml in 50% glycerol, PBS
+ 1.5mM NaN3 & 1mg/ml BSA)
antigen: a protein fragment corresponding to amino acids 249-903 from the
MOUSE dystrobrevin sequence
Use: Suitable for western blot on rat using approx 0.5ug/ml ab on total cell
lysate of rat brain lysate(positivecontrol) Major band =Mw 87Kda (additional
bands approx 57kda). Also suitable for histochemistry( tested on rabbit
cerebrum)
Storage: Store at -20 DEG C upon receipt. Recommend aliquoting. Avoid frequent
warming cycles.
