ANTIBODIES
(anti-Human and others as indicated)
RDI Divison of researchd Industries Intl offers a wide line of antibodies. Since no one antibody works best for all applications (neutralization, blotting, ELISA, etc), we offer many different types of antibodies to help solve this problem. Please inquire for other applications or types of antibodies not listed below.
Background: Cryptosporidium species, predominantly Cryptosporidium parvum, are protozoan pathogens of animals, especially sheep and lambs. They can be spread to humans by contaminated water, milk, and occasionally other animal products. human to human spread also occurs during the acute, watery, self limiting diarrhoeal illness that the agent causes, especially in children. In severely immunodepressed persons, the illness becomes chronic and persistent. It is estimated that as few as one to 10 oocysts constitute an infective dose. The Fitc conjugated version of this antibody can be used to detect oocysts in faecal material (recommend acetone fixation) and also to detect the often very small numbers of oocysts in samples taken from the water supply. The unlabelled version is recommended for histochemical applications (paraffin sections).
