packaging: 1mg of purified antibody at 1 mg/ml in 1.0ml PBS, pH 7.4, containing 0.1% of sodium azide as preservative. Store at 4 DEG C.

Purification: Protein A sepharose

Clones(isotype): all mIgG1 kappa

Specificity: Clone InsC7C9 reacts with c-terminal pentapeptide of insulin B-chain with Kd=10-9M. Clone C7C9 also cross reacts with bovine and porcine insulin.

These antibodies are directed to different antigenic determinants. These antibodies cross react human proinsulin, bovine insulkin (30%) and porcine insulinApplication: -Detection of insulin in two site enzyme   immunoassay. We recommend using clone E6E5   for coating and D4B8 for labeling. or clones   3A6 (coating) and clone 8E2 (detecting)

Clone D4B8 and E6E5 can be used in   histochemistry on frozen sections.

Safety: Although this antibody contains low amounts   of sodium azide (0.1%), appropriate care must   be taken when using this product. Background: Recognizes a polypepide identified as insulin. Insulin is a 51 amino acid polypeptide composed of A and B chains. Proinsulin, which has very little biological activity, is cleaved by proteases within its cell of origin into the insulin molecule and the C-terminal basic redidue. Insulin enhances membrane transport of glucose, amino acids, and certain acids. The main storage site for insulin is the pancreatic islets.
