RDI Division of Fitzgerald Industries Intl  offers a wide line of  antibodies. Since no one antibody works best for all applications (neutralization, blotting, histochemistry, ELISA, etc), we offer many different types of antibodies to help solve this problem. CLONE: BM23 was obtained following immunization of BALB/c mice with purified human IGF-1 conjugated to ovalbumin.

ISOTYPE: IgG1

SOURCE: Tissue Culture Supernatant

PURIFICATION METHOD: Protein A affinity chromatography

SPECIFICITY: The basic IGF-1-like forms (pI>9.0) showed substantial cross-reactivity, as did rat and mouse sera. Monoclonal antibody BM23 was capable of abolishing the biological activities of IGF-1 i n vitro bioassays for insulin-like, mitogenic and sulphation activities.

AFFINITY CONSTANT: The affinity of monoclonal antibody BM23 for IGF-1 was 1 x 1010l/mole and the cross reactivities of IGF-2, MSA and porcine insulin were 1%, 0.05% and <0.0001% respectively.

APPLICATIONS:
* RIA and EIA assay development.

* Studies of IGF-1 on frozen cells.

PRESENTATION: Each monoclonal is delivered in a sealed vial at a concentration of 1mg in phosphate buffered saline containing 10mM sodium azide . We recommend that each laboratory determine an optimum working titre for use in its particular application.

STORAGE: Purified monoclonal antibodies are generally stable for long periods at 4oC. However repeated warming to room temperature and re-cooling may result in a loss of activity and hence effective working titre. It is recommended that monoclonal antibodies are aliquotted upon receipt and then stored at -20C. After thawing they should then be used as a stock solution for up to 60 days. Dilute working solutions are best prepared on the day of use.
