Product presentation: Single homogenous batch, lyophilised from approximately 0.02M NH4CO3. May contain traces of buffer salts. Dispensed by dry weight.

Purity: Nominally greater than 98% of the total protein is Serum Albumin.

Starting material: Normal human serum/plasma. Starting material donor tested and certified negative for HIV I & II antibodies, Hepatitis B surface antigen, and Hepatitis C antibody.

Storage: Store at 2-8*C, shelf life minimum 1 year.

Reconstitution: Use of a phosphate buffer, pH >7.0 containing 0.15M NaCl is recommended.

Analysis Specifications Results

Appearance. White to light yellow powder. Pass.

Solubility. Clear colourless to clear faint yellow solution at 50mg/ml. Pass.

Purity by Cellulose Acetate Electrophoresis. ³     98% of total protein. Shows one band only indicating albumin electrophoretic mobility. Pass.

Endotoxin by LAL assay. spec: 0.1 ng/mg.  <0.1 EU/mg.

Moisture by Karl Fisher. spec<5.0%.      2.3 %.

SDS-Polyacrylamide Gel. Shows a major band corresponding to molecular weight of approx. 66KD. Pass.

Radial immunodiffusion (RID) using standard. Confirms identity and correlates with dry weight determination. Pass.
