Hemoglobin A1c

Presentation Supplied as a proprietary buffer formulation, pH 8.3. Dispensed on the basis of HbA1c not total hemoglobin.
Source Material Human erythrocytes. Starting material donor tested and found negative for HIV I & II antibodies, Hepatitis B surface antigen, and Hepatitis C antibodies.
Composition Specification > 99% of protein is hemoglobin A1c.
Testing
Analysis SDS-Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis shows bands corresponding to hemoglobin molecular weight of 18kD (subunit).
Quantitative analysis of HbA1c content by Roche Integra and/or Bio-Rad Variant.
Total protein (hemoglobin) determined by OD at 415nm (Ex=7).
Storage Store below -15"aC, shelf life minimum 1 year.

>90% of the hemoglobin is Hb A1c. hemoglobin concentration 30-80mg/ml.
Testing Starting material is donor tested and certified negative for HIV 1 and 2 antibodies, Hepatitis B surface antigen and HCV antibodies.
Analysis SDS-PAGE shows a band corresponding to a molecular weight of approx. 18kD (subunit), typical for hemoglobin. Quantitative analysis of Hb A1c content by Roche Integra and/or Bio-Rad Variant. Protein determination by the method of Lowry and OD at 415nm. UV Spectrum Characteristic for oxygenated hemoglobin.
