Source material: Pooled Human serum/plasma.
Product presentation: Supplied frozen in 0.01M sodium phosphate buffer pH 7.2
containing 0.15M NaCl
Specification: Purified to a level where no contaminating proteins can be
detected using a range of analytical techniques.
Analysis: Cellulose acetate electrophoresis shows one band only, with *2 electrophoretic mobility.
Gradient gel electrophoresis shows one band only, corresponding to a
molecular weight of approx. 180,000.
SDS-PAGE shows one major band.
C3 identity and content verified by radial immunodiffusion
(RID).
Protein determination by the method of Lowry and OD 280nm = 0.97 1cm,0.1%
Immunoelectrophoresis versus anti-whole human
serum shows one species only.
RID shows IgM, IgA, IgG, and C4 to be undetectable. Lower
limit for detection equivalent to 0.1% of total protein.
Disease state testing: Serum/plasma is donor tested and certified negative for
HIV 1 and 2 antibodies, Hepatitis B surface antigen and HCV antibodies.
Storage: Below -15oC.
