Source material: Human thyroid.

Product presentation: Supplied lyophilised from 0.02M NH4HCO3. May contain traces of buffer salts. The use of a buffered solution containing physiological levels of saline may aid complete dispersion of the product upon reconstitution.

Specification: > 98% Purity.

Analysis: Cellulose acetate electrophoresis shows one band only, indicating alpha 1 electrophoretic mobility.

Polyacrylamide gradient gel electrophoresis showsa band, corresponding to a molecular weight of approx. 660,000.

Under certain conditions the subunit band of   Thyroglobulin may also be observed at 330,000 molecular weight.

Immunological identity verified by Ouchterlony   immunodiffusion.

Presence of IgG not discernable by Radial Immunodiffusion

Protein determination by the method of Lowry 280nm and OD = 1.04. 1cm; 0.1%

Disease state testing: Starting material is tested and found negative for HIV 1 and 2 antibodies, Hepatitis B surface antigen and HCV antibodies.

Storage: 2 - 8oC.
