Source material: Urine of pregnant women.

Product presentation: Supplied lyophilised from 0.02M NH4HCO3. May contain traces of buffer salts. The use of a buffered solution containing physiological levels of saline may aid complete dispersion of the product upon reconstitution.

Specification: > 96% Purity; >14000 iu/mg total protein.

Analysis: SDS-PAGE shows one band only, corresponding to whole molecule hCG.

Quantitative (and qualitative) analysis by radial immunodiffusion (RID). WHO 1st International reference preparation (75/537).

Protein determination by the method of Lowry 280nm and OD.

Disease state testing: Starting material is tested and found negative for HIV 1 and 2 antibodies, Hepatitis B surface antigen and HCV antibodies.
