Presentation               Supplied lyophilised from 0.1M Sodium Phosphate buffer pH 7.2, containing 1.0% sucrose.

Source Material         Amniotic Fluid.

Composition

Specification            > 96% Purity.

Testing Starting material is tested and found negative for HIV 1 and 2 antibodies, Hepatitis B surface antigen and HCV antibodies.

Analysis Cellulose acetate electrophoresis shows one band only, indicating Alpha-1 electrophoretic mobility.

SDS-PAGE shows one band, corresponding to a molecular weight of approx. 66kD.

Quantitative (and qualitative) analysis by radial immunodiffusion (RID).

Protein determination by the method of Lowry and Optical Density at 280nm using an extinction low coefficient for a 0.1% solution and a 1 cm path length of 0.53

Storage 2 - 8ºC.

Comment According to literature, 1 Mega IU is equivalent to 1.205 mg.
