Source material: Human serum/plasma.

Product presentation: Supplied as a solution in 0.02M TRIS buffer pH 8.0, containing 0.28M NaCl and 0.1% NaN3 and 5mM Calcium choloride, (filter sterilised through 0.2uM).

Specification: >96% Purity.

  2 -5mg per ml CRP.

Analysis: Cellulose acetate electrophoresis shows one band only, indicating B-Gamma 2 electrophoretic mobility. (Ca2+ dependant).

Polyacrylamide gradient gel electrophoresis shows one band corresponding to the molecular weight of C- reactive protein of approx 114,000.

Quantitative (and qualitative) analysis by radial immunodiffusion (RID).

Protein determination by the method of Lowry 280nm and OD = 1.8. 1cm,0.1%

Disease state testing: Serum/plasma is donor tested and found negative for HIV 1 and 2 antibodies, Hepatitis B surface Antigen and HCV antibodies.
