Rat Interleukin 1 alpha (rtIL-1A) is a potent immuno-modulator which mediates a wide range of immune and inflammatory responses including the activation of B and T cells. This recombinant Rat IL-1A is a 18 kDa protein containing 156amino acid residues.

Supplied: Lyophilized protein from sterile filtered PBS containing 50ug of
bovine serum albumin per ug of IL1A (if desired without carrier, add -X to
catalog number) .

Purity: >97% by SDS-Page analysis and visualized by silver stain. Endotoxin
level is less than 0.1ng per ug of rat IL-1A.
Reconstitution: The lyophilized IL-1A is soluble in water and most aqueous
buffers. The lyophilized powder should be reconstituted in sterile PBS to
a concentration of no less than 1ug/ml. Allow to set at least 30 minutes,
rotate and mix well. Centrifuge for 1-2 minutes at 1000RPM to concentrate
solution in bottom of vial. This solution can be diluted into water or other
buffered solutions and store under sterile conditions at 4 DEG C for up to
one month or aliquot and store at -20 DEG C for future use.
Note:if using the carrier free material and this material is not to be used
for coating or labeling (or other applications requiring carrier free material),
the addition of 0.1% BSA to dilution buffers or dilution in sterile culture
media is recommended to enhance stability and minimize absorption to vial.
Ideally, maintain stock >1ug/ml.
Storage: The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature, is best
stored desiccated below 0 DEG C. reconstituted rat IL-1A should be stored
in working aliquots at -20 DEG C. Avoid Frequent Freeze- THAW Cycles.
Reactivity: The ED50 as determined by the dose dependent stimulation of murine
helper T cell line D10.G4.1 cells is 3-7pg/ml.
