Murine/Rat Cytokine/Growth Factor/Chemokines Sample Spec sheets (subject to change without notice):
IL-1beta is a proinflammatory cytokine produced in a variety of cells including monocytes, tissue macrophages, keratinocytes and other epithelial cells. Both IL-1alpha and IL-1beta binds to the same receptor and has similar if not identical biological properties. These cytokines have a broad range of activities including, stimulation of thymocyte proliferation, by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, mitogenic FGF-like activity and the ability to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells. However, whereas IL-1beta is a secreted cytokine, IL-1alpha is predominantly a cell-associated cytokine. This recombinant rat IL-1beta is a 17.3 kDa protein containing 153 amino acid residues

Supplied: Lyophilized protein from 4mM Tris pH 8.0 with no additives.
Source: E. Coli
Purity: >98% by SDS-Page analysis and HPLC analysis. Endotoxin level is
less than 0.1ng per ug of rat IL-1B.
Reconstitution: The lyophilized IL-1B is soluble in water and most aqueous
buffers. The lyophilized powder should be reconstituted in water to a
concentration of 100ng/ul. Allow to set at least 30 minutes, rotate and mix
well. Centrifuge for 1-2 minutes at 1000RPM to concentrate solution in bottom
of vial. This solution can be diluted into water or other buffered solutions
or stored at -20 DEG C for future use. For most in vitro applications, rat
Il-1B exerts its biological activity in the concentration range of 0.1 to
10.0ng/ml.
Note:If this material is not to be used for coating or labeling (or other
applications requiring carrier free material), the addition of 0.1% BSA to
dilution buffers or dilution in sterile culture media is recommended to enhance
stability and minimize absorption to vial. Ideally, maintain stock
>50ug/ml.
Storage: The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature, is best
stored desiccated below 0 DEG C. reconstituted rat IL-1B should bes tored
in working aliquots at -20 DEG C. Avoid Frequent Freeze- THAW Cycles.
Reactivity: The ED50 as determined by the dose dependent stimulation of murine
D10S cells is <0.1ng/ml which yield a specific activity of >1 X 107
units/mg.
Precautions: For In vitro research Use Only. Not for use in or on humans
or animals or for diagnostics. It is the responsibility of the user to comply
with all local/state and Federal rules in the use of this product. We arenot
responsible for any patent infringements that might result with the use of
