Supplied: Lyophilized powder from 10mM Tris, pH 8.5 with no additives. Endotoxin
level is less than 0.1ng (1EU/ug) per ug EGF.

Reconstitution:The lyophilized EGF (which is soluble in water and most aqueous
buffers) should be reconstituted in steriel water to a concentration of
0.5-1mg/ml. Allow to set at least 30 minutes (suggest tightening cap and
rotating. Centrifuge 1000 rpm for 1 minute to concentrate material in vial
to pull any liquid of sides of vial). This solution can be diluted into other
buffered solutions or stored at 4 DEG C for up to one week or at -20 DEG
C for future use.
Storage: The lyophilized powder is stable at room temperature for a few weeks
but it is best stored desiccated at -20 DEG C. Reconstituted EGF should be
stored in working aliquots at -20DEG C. AVOID FREQUENT FREEZE THAW CYCLES.
Reactivity: The ED50 determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by Balb-c 3T3 cells is <0.15ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 6.6 X 106 units/mg.
