IFN-gamma is an acid-labile interferon produced by CD4 and CD8 T lymphocytes as well as activated NK cells. IFN-gamma receptors are present in most immune cells, which respond to IFN-gamma signaling by increasing the surface expression of class I MHC proteins. This promotes the presentation of antigen to T-helper (CD4+) cells. IFN-gamma signaling in antigen-presenting cells and antigen-recognizing B and T lymphocytes regulate the antigen-specific phases of the immune response. Additionally, IFN-gamma stimulates a number of lymphoid cell functions including the anti-microbial and anti-tumor responses of macrophages, NK cells, and neutrophils. Human IFN-gamma?nspecies-specific and is biologically active only in human and primate cells. This recombinant murine IFN-gamma is a 15.6 kDa protein containing 134 amino acid residues.
Catalog#: RDI-3155
Package Size: 100 micrograms $231.00 $219.00/package 2+
10 X 100micrograms $2000.00
Mini-Pack: cat#RDI-3155P $94.00/20ug
Supplied: Lyophilized powder from PBS pH 7.2
Source: E. Coli
Purity: >98% by SDS-Page analysis. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1ng
per ug of IFN-G
Reconstitution: The lyophilized IFN-g is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. The lyophilized powder should be reconstituted in water or a 1X PBS pH8.0 buffer to a concentration of 0.1- 0.5mg/ml. Allow to set at least 30 minutes, rotate and mix well. Centrifuge for 1-2 minutes at 1000RPM to concentrate solution in bottom of vial. and stored at 4oC for 1 week or -20oC for future use. This solution MUST BE be diluted into RPMI + 10% FCS or 5% HSA
Note:If this material is not to be used for coating or labeling (or other applications requiring carrier free material), the addition of 5% BSA/HSA to dilution buffers or dilution in sterile culture media is recommended to enhance stability and minimize absorption to vial. Ideally, maintain stock >50ug/ml.
Storage: The lyophilized powder is stable at room temperature for a few weeks
but is best stored desiccated at -20 DEG C. Reconstituted IFN-G should be
stored in working aliquots at -20DEG C. AVOID FREQUENT FREEZE THAW CYCLES.
Reactivity: This product is fully biologically active as measured by a cytopathic
affect inhibition assay with murine L929 cells challenged with EMC virus. The
ED50 was <0.1ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >1 X 10
E07 Units/MG.
