-Eotaxin is a recently discovered chemokine characterized by its high chemotactic selectivity for eosinophils. the position of four cysteine residues in eotaxin place it in the C-C family of chemokines, along with chemokines such as RANTES, MCP-3, and MIP-1 alpha. Human eotaxin is an 8.3 kDa protein containing 74 amino acid residues.

Purity: >98% by SDS-Page analysis. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1ng
per ug of eotaxin.
Reconstitution: Lyophilized eotaxin should be reconstituted in water to a
concentration of 0.1-1mg/ml. Allow to set at least 30 minutes at 4 DEG C,
mix well. If desired, tighten cap and centrifuge for 1 minute at 1000rpm
to concentrate material in vial. This solution can be diluted into other
buffered solutions or stored at 4 DEG C for up to 1 week or at -20 DEG C
long term for future use. It is recommended that a carrier protein As 0.1%
HSA or BSA) or medium serum be added to diluted material.
Storage: The lyophilized powder is stable at room temperature for a few weeks but it is best stored desiccated at -20 DEG C. Reconstituted exotaxin should be stored in working aliquots at -20 DEG C. AVOID FREQUENT FREEZE THAW CYCLES.
Reactivity: Determined by its ability to chemoattract human peripheral blood eosinophils using a concentration of 10.0-50.0ng/ml
