-The murine homolog of ENA-78 is called LIX. LIX is a CXC chemokine that signals through the CXCR2 receptor. It is expressed in monocytes, platelets, endothelial cells, and mast cells. LIX is a chemoattractant for neutrophils. The two naturally occurring variants of LIX; LIX 1-78 (GCP-2) and LIX 9-78 (GCP-2), contain 78 and 70 amino acid residues, respectively. LIX contains the four conserved cysteine residues present in CXC chemokines, and also contains the ‘ELR' motif common to CXC chemokine that bind to the CXCR1 and CXCR2 receptors. This recombinant murine LIX is a 7.6 kDa protein consisting of amino acid residues 9-78 of the full length LIX protein (93 amino acids

Reconstitution: At first use, tighten cap, genetly tap on counter or centrifuge 1 minute 1000 rpm to concentrate powder in bottom of vial. The lyophilized LIX should then be reconstituted in sterile DI water to a concentration of 0.1-1mg/ml. Allow to set at least 30 minutes at 4 DEG C, Mix well. If desired, centrifuge for 1-2 minutes at 1000 rpm to concentrate material in vial. This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions or stored at 4 DEG C for 1 week or -20 DEG C for future use.
Note:If this material is not to be used for coating or labeling (or other applications requiring carrier free material), the addition of 0.1% BSA to later dilution buffers or dilution in sterile culture media is recommended to enhance stability and minimize absorption to vial. Ideally, maintain stock >10ug/ml.
Storage: The lyophilized powder is stable at room temperature for a few weeks but it is best stored desiccated at - 20 DEG C. Reconstituted LIX should be stored in working aliquots at -20 DEG C. AVOID FREQUENT FREEZE THAW CYCLES.
Reactivity: Determined by its ability to chemoattract human neutrophils using a concentration range of 10.0-100.0 ng/ml.
