DATA SHEET:recombinant MURINE BLC

BCA-1/BLC, a CXC chemokine, is expressed in the liver, spleen, lymph nodes, appendix and stomach. It exerts its activities through its only receptor CXCR5. BCA-1/BLC is a potent chemoattractant for B lymphocytes and induces weak chemotactic response in T cells and macrophages. It manifests no activity on neutrophils and monocytes. This recombinant murine BLC is a 9.8 kDa protein containing 88 amino acid residues including the four highly conserved cysteine residues present in CXC chemokines.

Purity: >98% by SDS-Page analysis and HPLC analysis. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1ng per ug (1EU/ug) of mBLC

Reconstitution: The lyophilized BLC should be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 0.5-1.0mg/ml. Allow to set at least 30 minutes at 4 DEG C , tighten cap and rotate to reconstitute any material on sides of vial. If desired, you can centrifuge at 1000 rpm for 1 minute to concentrate volume in bottom of vial.This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions or stored at 4 DEG C for up to 1 week or aliquoted and stored at -20 DEG C for future use.

Note:If this material is not to be used for coating or labeling (or other applications requiring carrier free material), the addition of 0.1% BSA or dilution in sterile culture media is recommended to enhance stability and minimize absorption to vial. Recommend maintaining stock >10ug/ml.

Storage: The lyophilized powder is stable at room temperature for a few weeks but it is best stored desiccated at -20 DEG C. Reconstituted BLC should be stored in working aliquots at -20 DEG C. AVOID FREQUENT FREEZE THAW CYCLES.

Reactivity: Determined by it ability to chemoattract murine B cells using a concentration of 10-100ng/ml
