-Insulin Like Growth Factor-I (IGF-I) is a polypeptide growth factor which
stimulates the proliferation of a wide range of cell types including muscle,
bone, and cartilage tissue. This recombinant MURINE IGF-I is a 7.6 kDa protein
containing 70 amino acids.

Purity: >97% by SDS-Page analysis and HPLC analysis. Endotoxin less than
0.1ng per ug (1EU/ug) of IGF-I.
Reconstitution: The lyophilized material is soluble in water and most aqueous
buffers. The lyophilized powder should be reconstituted in sterile water
to a concentration of 0.1- 1mg/ml. Allow to set at least 30 minutes at 4
DEG C, rotate, mix well. If desired, centrifuge for 1-2 minutes at 500-1000
rpm to concentrate material in vial. This solution can be stored at 4 DEG
C for up to 1 week or diluted into other buffered solutions or stored at
- 20DEG C for future use. For most in-vitro applications, IGF-I exerts
itsbiological activity in the range of 0.2 to 20.0 ng/ml.
Storage: The lyophilized powder is stable at room temperature or a few weeks
but it is best stored desiccated at -20 DEG C. Reconstituted IGF-I should
be stored in working aliquots at -20DEG C. AVOID FREQUENT FREEZE THAW
CYCLES.
Reactivity: The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine
uptake by Balb-c 3T3 cells is approx 1.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific
activity of 1 million units per milligram.
